As of November the government had raised Rp 11.1 trillion in non-tax revenue from telecommunications, up from Rp 10.3 trillion gained a year earlier, the Information and Communication Ministry says.
“I am optimistic we can raise Rp 12 trillion in non-tax revenue by the end of this year,” Information and Communication Minister Tifatul Sembiring said at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The increase was partly a result of the extra budget allocated to the ministry this year at Rp 2.8 trillion, also up from the Rp 2.1 trillion allocated in 2009, Tifatul said.
The government plans to allocate Rp 3.1 trillion to his ministry next year, in efforts to further increase its non-tax revenue.
“We target to obtain Rp 15 trillion in non-tax revenue next year,” he said.
