JAKARTA: Government of Indonesia and India's Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation for developing fertilizer industry in Indonesia.
As stated in the MoU, both parties agreed to boost investment in fertilizer sector, according to technical feasibility and economic study, either directly or through an appointed institution.
Indonesia's Minister of Industry M.S. Hidayat said that after the signing of the MoU, both parties will appoint an institution or a company working on fertilizer sector with task of negotiating to realize the agreed partnership.
“Both parties will appoint an institution or a company that will carry out negotiation process to realize the partnership based on the applicable laws and regulations in both countries,” Hidayat said in a press release received by Bisnis last night.
The signing of the MoU between Indonesia and India took place yesterday, witnessed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Minister of Industry. Apart from the agreement on fertilizer, the ministry also signed MoU with Trimex Sands Pvt Ltd on the development of industrial area that uses heavy mineral resources.
