Indonesian stocks closed down by 0.99%

JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks tumbled 0.99%, to close at 3,346.06 at 4 p.m. local time.

Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) lost 33.48 points from 3,380.50 at opening session this morning after moving between 3,321.68 – 3,396.85.


Of 423 stocks listed in the index, 67 rose, 151 fell and 206 were unchanged.

PT Perusahaan Gas Negara became the main driver of the index by plunging 5.02 points. Other stocks dragging the index down included PT Indo Tambangraya, which fell 2.472 points, and PT Bank Mandiri, which slid 2.46 points.

Meanwhile, the stocks restraining the index from further decrease included PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia, which gained 5.05 points, followed by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia with 3.58 points, and PT Bank Negara Indonesia with 1.09 points.

All nine sectors in Indonesia Stock Exchange showed negative move. Mining sector led the drop in the index by contributing minus 17.39%, followed by consumer goods with minus 15.70%, and infrastructure, utility and transportation with minus 14.73%.

As JCI retreated, BISNIS 27 Index also slipped 2.28 points to 284.52 at closing today from 286.80 at opening. BISNIS 27 Index moved within the range of 281.50 – 288.11. (T04/NOM)
