JAKARTA: Indonesian stocks fell by 1.61% against its opening figure, led by finance sector. Rupiah was corrected.
Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), the Indonesia's benchmark stock index, lost 59.51 points to close at 3,642.50 at 16.00 local time from 3,701.92 in the opening session. It moved as low as 3,632.09 this day.
In the lagging movers, there were PT Astra International with minus 6.31 points, PT Unilever Indonesia minus 5.49 points, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia minus 5.13 points, and Bank Mandiri with minus 4.98 points.
Yet, PT Borneo Lumbung and PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya sustained the index by increasing 2.33 points and 1.23 points, respectively.
All sectoral indexes traded in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) went down, led by finance sector with a contribution of -32.03%, infrastructure with -17.18%, and consumer goods with -13.96.
The JCI's negative performance also dragged down BISNIS-27 Index which fell 6.39 points to close at 321.487.
Rupiah at the same time was traded at IDR8,993, a correction of 25 points against the opening level at IDR8,968. (NOM)
